As I was going through my archive, I found a souvenir released on the occasion of the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Samadhi shrine at Ganeshpuri. Thought of documenting it for posterity.

It was late Shri H G Vartak who was the Chairman of Shri Bhimeshwar Sadguru Nityanand Sanstha. The Foundation laying ceremony was held on 9th August 1969 at 10.30 in the morning. Bhagavan Nityananda had taken Mahasamadhi on 8th August 1961 at 10.43.

The then Board of Trusteeshad eleven members. Shri H G Vartak also known as Bahusaheb Vartak was Chairman. Other prominent members were Shri Laxman Khoday, Shri A T Patil, Shri Babubhai Mehta, and Shri Ranchoddas K Rangwalla.

The Chairman wrote a note of thanks to various devotees who supported this Seva

This information is for reference in case anyone needs it.

Samadhi Shrine under construction:

Old Vaikunta Ashram before the present Samadhi Shrine came its place:

The Vaikunta Ashram in 1960.

Balbhojan was held on the space around the Vaikuntha Ashram

Samadhi before the statue was installed:

The Bhagavan’s statue in the olden days when it was coloured:

The Moorti was placed on the Samadhi. The original Samadhi of Bhagavan is rectangular and below the octagonal structure. This Samadhi is at the height of the Lord Krishna statue behind the temple. The octagonal structure was made above the original Samadhi and the statue was placed above it. The Trustees then placed the statue on the top of the Samadhi. It would have been better if the statue were placed behind the Samadhi, making it convenient to colour it or perform Abhishek without touching our foot to the original Samadhi. Most devotees do not know that the rectangular form is the original Samadhi and since they cannot reach out to the statue, often place their feet on it.
