Let us remember our revered Gurudeva and dedicate ourselves to Him so that we transcend all dualities and qualities.||1||

With deep love, respect, and devotion, let us hold our Guru in our hearts and offer our service to Him.||2||

May we swiftly attain detachment and conquer the six inner enemies — lust, anger, greed, temptation, envy, and arrogance.||3||

Our Sadguru not only reveals His divine essence of Consciousness (Atman) but also keeps us established in the bliss of that Consciousness.||4||

Says Nirmalanandee, “In my meditation, I remain ever connected to my Sadguru Nityananda.”||5||

Gurunathala Amhee Smaroo Ya | Gunateet Amhee Hou ya
By remembering the Guru, we aspire to transcend all gunas — the qualities of sattva (purity), rajas (activity), and tamas (inertia). As the Sadguru, Bhagavan Nityananda embodies the state of Gunatita (beyond attributes). Surrendering to him allows the disciple to rise above worldly dualities and cultivate a state of inner equanimity.

Prembhavasi Amhee Dharu Ya | Seva Guruchi Amhee Karu Ya
This verse emphasizes cultivating Premabhava — a love that is pure, selfless, and unconditional. It is not bound by ego but flows naturally through the act of Seva (service) to the Guru. The highest form of devotion is Seva, which purifies the mind and deepens one’s connection to the Guru.

Vairagyasi Vege Sadhoo Ya | Vairisahala Vege Maroo ya
This highlights the value of vairagya — detachment from worldly attachments and desires. The call to “destroy all enmity” is an inner battle against the ego’s tendencies — jealousy, hatred, anger — which obstruct one’s spiritual progress. Swiftly conquering these inner enemies aligns a seeker with the Guru’s grace.

Atmaswaroop Amha Davito | Atmanandat Amha Thevito
Bhagavan Nityananda, as the Guru, reveals the seeker’s true Self (Atmaswaroop), beyond the transient body-mind complex. When established in Atmananda — the bliss of Self-realization — the seeker remains unshaken by worldly ups and downs. The Guru’s grace bestows this direct experience of the Self.

Nirmal Anandee Dhyanee | Nityanand Nistha Manee
In a state of Nirmal Ananda (pure, stainless bliss), the mind is free from impurities, and the meditator experiences the continuous, unbroken joy of dhyana (meditation). To hold steadfast Nistha (faith) in Bhagavan Nityananda means unwavering trust in his guidance, recognizing his essence as the embodiment of eternal bliss (Nityananda).

This bhajan is a call to surrender, selfless service, and steadfastness on the spiritual path. It reflects the essence of Bhagavan Nityananda’s teachings — transcending qualities, nurturing unconditional love, cultivating detachment, realizing the Self, and abiding in unshakable faith.

His grace not only dissolves the ego’s limitations but also anchors the seeker in eternal, unwavering bliss.

“O Sadguru Maulee! You are the compassionate Mother of boundless grace.
How can I ever describe Your Saguna form — the form that embodies the divine yet is accessible to us?”||1||

In this verse, the devotee addresses the Sadguru as Maulee, a term of deep affection meaning “Mother.” It signifies that the Guru is not just a teacher but a nurturing, protective, and compassionate presence. The Guru’s grace is likened to a mother’s love — unconditional and all-encompassing. The phrase “Saguna Tee Maulee” recognizes the Guru’s form as a manifestation of the divine with qualities that are perceivable to the devotees. Yet, the devotee acknowledges the limitation of language and intellect in capturing the full essence of the Guru’s divine presence. The Guru’s Saguna form is a bridge for devotees to experience the divine in a tangible, relatable way.

“O Gurudev! You bless us with complete understanding, dispelling all illusions and dualities.
By Your grace, we experience deep and abiding peace.”||2||

This verse emphasizes the Guru’s role as the dispeller of ignorance (Avidya) and duality (Bheda). The Guru is the illuminator of truth — the one who bestows the wisdom to discern between the ephemeral and the eternal. The line “Nurvun Bhedasi Shanti Deto” conveys that the Guru’s grace transcends the limitations of ego, dismantling the false sense of separateness. The resulting state is one of deep inner peace, where the mind ceases its restless pursuits and abides in the stillness of the Self. This profound peace is not just the absence of disturbance but the presence of divine awareness.

“How can I ever repay the immense debt of Your grace?
You awaken in us a sense of detachment from the worldly and lead us into the easeful joy of the Self.”||3||

Here, the devotee reflects on the inestimable grace of the Guru. There is a sense of humility and indebtedness, realizing that the Guru’s blessings cannot be reciprocated through mere material offerings. The Guru kindles Vairagya (dispassion) in the devotee’s heart — a detachment that does not stem from rejection but from a deeper understanding of the transient nature of the world. This detachment paves the way to Sahaj Sukha — the effortless joy that is inherent to one’s true Self. Unlike fleeting happiness dependent on circumstances, this joy is steady, self-existent, and unconditioned.

“You have mastered the path of Rajyoga, effortlessly transcending the bonds of worldly existence.
With Your guidance, we too can overcome the fetters of this material world.”||4||

In this verse, the Guru is honoured as a master of Rajyoga, the royal path that unites the individual soul with the Supreme Consciousness. The reference to Rajyoga highlights the integration of all aspects of yoga — devotion, knowledge, action, and meditation. The Guru’s mastery of this path serves as an example for devotees striving for liberation from the Sansar Bandhan — the binding forces of worldly attachments. The Guru’s own transcendence of these bonds is a beacon for seekers who aspire to experience spiritual freedom while still living in the world.

“With a heart purified and filled with bliss, I surrender at the Lotus Feet of Nityananda.
Merged with His divine presence, I remain ever connected in unwavering devotion.”||5||

The culmination of the bhajan is a state of complete surrender at the Lotus Feet of the Sadguru. The “Lotus Feet” symbolizes the sacredness, purity, and the foundation of the devotee’s spiritual journey. The devotee expresses Milind Houni — a merging of the individual self with the divine essence of the Guru. The phrase “Nitya Rahee” signifies a perpetual state of connection, devotion, and unwavering commitment. The devotee abides in the bliss of Nityananda — the eternal joy of the Self, experiencing the Guru not as separate but as one’s own inner essence.

This bhajan is a profound expression of the devotee’s reverence, surrender, and realization of the Guru’s grace. It captures the transformative power of the Guru — from imparting wisdom and transcending ignorance to awakening inner joy and guiding the seeker toward liberation. The language of the verses blends humility, gratitude, and the yearning for union with the divine, symbolized by the Guru’s Saguna and Nirguna forms.
