I was a little over 5 years old when Bhagavan took Mahasamadhi. Here you see me with Kuttiram Swami.
For five generations, we Shenoys got direct Darshana of Bhagavan Nityananda. I am the fourth in this family. My mother’s side too were His direct devotees. My childhood days were spent more in Ganeshpuri than in my school. Bhagavan used to often take care of me. He used to offer me fruits, biscuits, and sweets. I was fond of mangoes and bananas. In summer baskets of mangoes were offered to Him and He used to give me one after another to eat till my body was covered with mango juice. Finally, my parents used to pick me up and dump me into the Kunda in the evening. The biscuits that He used to give us were known as Ramakada Biscuits. India was just evolving in the 1950s and there were not many branded biscuits in the market. Ramakada biscuits had arrowroot, and vanilla and were made using dies in the shape of various animals and birds. Thus elephant, tiger, sparrow, shaped biscuits were given to us. We children used to barter among ourselves whenever we had duplicates of someone else who had our favorite bird or animal-shaped biscuits. He often gave us toys and clothes. He gave me a crape paper crown which He put around my head. He gave me clay toys – a cow, parrot, Radha Krishna, and a wooden peacock on the wheel. When pulled on the floor it used to roll with its neck going back and forth. He used to distribute clothes to children. Once, He gave my brother and me a piece of cloth which turned out to be half-sarees meant for young girls. People started to tease us. Finally, one of the attendants brought this to the notice of Bhagavan. He took back the sarees and gave my brother a blue shirt and an ochre shirt for me. When I wore this ochre shirt it reached up to my ankle making me look like a young monk!
One day He gave me a blue pen which was then known as a fountain pen. When I grew up, I wondered why He gave me a pen, till one day Govind Swami asked me “Will you write on Chidakasha Geeta?’ I had no such intention because every time I tried, I would fall asleep after reading a few pages. One day, Chidakasha Geeta opened up for me! Between 2008 and 2018 I undertook a study and depending on my positioning in life, each aphorism from Chidakasha Geeta opened for me. Every time I read the same verse, a new meaning would emerge!
