AUSPICIOUS MOMENT – PUNYAGADHI 10.43 AM

I once visited Narsobawadi, the sacred place where the Purnavatar of Shree Dattatreya, Shree Narasimha Saraswati, lived during his time on earth. As I stood in the Darshan line, there was a small queue ahead of me. When I finally reached the holy Paduka, my wristwatch alarm rang. I had set the alarm for 10:43 am, the exact time Bhagavan Nityananda took Mahasamadhi on Tuesday, August 8, 1961. Standing before Shree Narasimha Saraswati’s Paduka at that very moment felt incredibly auspicious.

On 14th September 1961, a devotee experienced the manifestation of Sadguru Nityananda as Dattatreya with Lord Ganesha as the centre figure in the trinity as a Guruganesha. It was September 14, 2022, when I visited Narsoba Wadi and the Dakshin Dwar opened, and the waters of the Krishna River rose to touch the Nirgun Paduka of Shree Narasimha Saraswati. The events unfolding felt like a profound blessing, as I received Darshan of Shree Narasimha Saraswati at 10:43 am—the Punyagadhi—precisely when it is believed to be easiest to connect with Bhagavan Nityananda, the moment of His Mahasamadhi.

Gopal Anna, who had served Bhagavan Nityananda his entire life, once told me, “This moment when Bhagavan assumed His Nijaswaroop is highly auspicious. If one wishes to connect with Him, they should call out at 10:43 am, as He is most easily accessible at that time.” This is why an Arti is performed daily at 10:43 am at the Bangalorewalla Building, the very place where Bhagavan took Samadhi. In a similar spirit, I initiated an Arti at 3:05 pm at the Kanhangad Ashram, marking the time when Shree Swami Janananda took Mahasamadhi on December 27, 1982.
For me, Bhagavan Nityananda manifested as  Shree Narasimha Saraswathi in Nigun Paduka, with river Krishna reaching His Lotus Feet, Dakshin Dwar. The holy water of the Krishna River connected both of us!
